Nashville has had touches of Spring (and even Summer) the last month and it has me so excited for patio season. That time of year when you want to open the windows and doors and let the smell of fresh air into your house, when you get to sit outside and bask in the sun after hibernating for months. It’s the best!

And ever since we moved into our home here in Nashville I have come to appreciate the important of a well styled porch or patio.

We’re hosting Thanksgiving this year and it will be the first time my nephews come to Nashville! So the pressure is on to plan a fun holiday weekend but also to have a top notch Thanksgiving dinner. So I’d be lying if I said I hadn’t been thinking about this table decor for a while now.

This is exactly what I wanted from this space and I’m so thrilled with it. The perfect blend of a dining area to fit the family as well as a lounge area to enjoy some football on the weekends. And with family coming in last week I knew that it was the perfect time to set up a festive fall dining experience.

We found the perfect way to hang our new cafe lights without any huge holes or difficulty.

I’m not big on having too much on the kitchen counter, but not enough and your kitchen can feel cold and stark. But having the right accessories and items throughout your kitchen can immediately make it feel more inviting and cozy. I change out our centerpiece seasonally and consider it a crucial part of our main living area decor.

Our living room and kitchen are rather large and are within view of each other so they have to connect with each other while remaining distinct.

These tables are great accent pieces. Ours is a staple to our entryway and a real eye-catching piece, and while I think that they are beautiful to stand out, they are also great to blend in or serve as accents to an otherwise “finished” room.

I love changing out the decor on our entryway pedestal table because it’s a great way to set the tone for the rest of the house.

It’s a love-hate relationship for people; either that or an “I-have-no-idea-what-that-is” relationship when it comes to Burl. To be honest I knew I had seen it before, but didn’t know what it actually was until a few years ago. Now, I’m obsessed. What I love most about it is that burl is actually a deformity in wood. Don’t you love that? A deformity that makes something so beautiful and sought after, that’s a life lesson right there.

“It’s the most wonderful time of the year”, and my house is feeling it for sure. I love decorating for the holiday season but have only really ever been able to fully go for it a few times. Now that we have all of our decorations in one spot, we know we’re not moving and all that fun jazz, let’s do the darn thing! Garlands, candles, wreaths, oh my! My favorite spots to work with are stair railings, fireplace mantels and front porches.
